ADVANCED INTELLIGENT NETWORKS CORPORATION
ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF SOHONET
- A MULTI-FUNCTIONAL COMMUNICATIONS SOFTWARE SYSTEM

WASHINGTON, DC - (October 2, 1996)-- Advanced Intelligent Networks Corporation (AINC) announced today the release of their multi-functional communication and information services software system - SohoNet. SohoNet is a major advance in the communications industry, allowing the combination and control of any, or all, communication services by fully utilizing Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) call control services and protocol. With this new software system, communication service providers will be able to provide their customers with services ranging from paging, cellular and Internet access to individualized call filtering, home security and energy monitoring. All together, there are over fifty service options available through the SohoNet software system, allowing any communication service providers to become a one-stop-shop for all their customers' communication and information services needs.

"This product was designed to bridge the communications gap," said David Roland, President of Advanced Intelligent Networks Corporation. "Now any communication or information service provider can offer their customers myriad options without the concern of creating their own software program. We have done all the work for you."

The heart of SohoNet is System90 software, owned and developed by Roland Projects, Inc. of Denver, CO and licensed to AINC. This software offers many options never before available in one package to the communication services market: a package that will benefit both commercial and residential customers. For example. while there are service providers for Internet service and e-mail, and different providers for voice messaging, cellular and paging services, until now, there has not been a single source service provider who can deliver all these services and more with just a software package. Commercial customer services include, but are not limited to, voice services: telemarketing; data conversion; automated attendant (a computerized operator); order/data entry, update, and query; on-line catalogs; direct customer Access to order information; WAN-LAN networking; on-line training and telecommuting. For the residential customer, System90 software includes, but is not limited to, personalized call screening; custom voice prompts; artificially intelligent call handling; disadvantaged user aids; home security; energy management; pay-per-view video service control; Internet service; e-mail and medical monitoring.

System90 software was designed specifically for use with ISDN technology, but can still provide all services via regular analog technology. It is also unique in that the services provided are programmable at both the service provider and end user levels, creating more flexibility in the types, styles and engineering of options for customers.

As a new era in communications arises out of the Telecommunications Act of 1990. communication service providers are looking for new, innovative ways of crossing the lines into other forms of communications previously unavailable. SohoNet provides the means to this end. SohoNet is the solution to provide 'at the curb' communication and information services, said David Roland. "it is truly the 'IS' of ISDN; SohoNet(tm) is the integration of communications and information services.

Advanced Intelligent Network Corporation provides service and software technology for the integration of communication and information services. AINC is focused on extending basic telecommunications service needs into a broader more flexible and better engineered product.
